The Queensland Government direction issued by the Minister for Health under the Public Health Act 2005 is a direction resulting from locally acquired Covid-19 cases.
Our law firm remains an ‘essential service’ pursuant to the Restrictions for Locked Down Areas (South-Estate Queensland) Direction effective 4:00 pm (AEST) 31 July 2021. This direction has changed from time to time, however, we continue to administer an  ‘essential business, activity or undertaking’ and therefore our office remains open unless otherwise directed.
In addition to this, our law firm has taken serious precautions to protect our clients and staff, including ensuring that all clients are scheduled for appointment, we ask necessary covid-19 related questions, we have an entry policy designed to avoid risky situations, masks are required to be worn (unless an exemption can be produced) during appointments and hand sanitiser is provided and used regularly for high touch point zones.
If the direction changes, we have also specially design a risk minimisation strategy to avoid disruption to clients. This includes a work from home strategy with specialised cloud software.
